Step Eleven – Sought God, and His Will for Us

Step Eleven โ€“ Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for the knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

As we come closer to a fully active relationship with God, we begin to understand that the creator of the universe is actually a part of us. That free will, which has been gifted to us, serves us in many ways if directed in a loving and caring way. Sometimes we get off track and forget who we really are. We are that love and compassion that moves mountains and heals nations. We are innately connected to that higher consciousness that knows all and sees the direction we are heading. It helps us chart our course if we would only listen to the inner voice, or constant stirring in our soul to do something.

Through prayer, we initiate love toward others and toward our creator. That love is the guiding force that stirs us to action. It is the initiate of our soul, the living thing that we breathe life into as we radiate that love inward and outward. It grows in us and brings us purpose and meaning. This is where we meet God, the source of unconditional love. We speak Godโ€™s language, and we grow in understanding, in wisdom as we desire to connect within. This connection is everything, itโ€™s life.

In our daily meditation, we make room for God first in our lives. We can never be too busy to carve out a few moments to go within and listen. Tapping in through meditation is an important component of being in the flow. The few moments we could have surrendered in meditation, but did not, could mean hours of frustration in our day. Itโ€™s well worth the investment, as the return is often far more than one could imagine. Things seem to work out better, we get more done, and with much ease. People seem to be more agreeable and kinder to us. We notice serendipitous moments that we might have otherwise overlooked. Itโ€™s an amazing feeling having that connection to the All That Is.

Discovering Godโ€™s will for us can be an easier task if we open ourselves up to the Universe. God lines up opportunities for us and we just need to be open and willing to receive the gifts that are freely given. Say โ€œyesโ€ more often to things that are good for us, new adventures, new friends, new beginnings. If we cling too tightly to the things we believe we need, it may be time to let them go. We are about creating, being joyful, and doing the things that will make us or the world around us better even if it feels painful at the time. Godโ€™s will for us is simple, Love. Through love, we create, we thrive, we want the best for others, and we let go. We surrender rather than try to control. We learn what peace is and we affect others around us by our higher vibration. It all works amazingly well when we consciously improve our contact with God, as we understand Him. What once might have scared us becomes easier and we move forward without hesitation when we learn to trust God.
